The ancient city of Petra was carved into sandstone cliffs over 2,000 years ago. Its intricate architecture was built by the Nabataeans, a civilization that controlled the trade routes between the East and West. Petra's famous Treasury building, Al-Khazneh, is estimated to have been built in 100 BC. Its massive façade is over 40 meters wide and 28 meters tall. What's even more astonishing is that the Nabataeans built an advanced water conduit system to supply water to the city, which is still a mystery to archaeologists today. How did they achieve such engineering feats over two millennia ago?
