Gay penguins steal eggs from straight couples when they want to be dads.
Because adult males are the ones who look after the eggs, it’s not uncommon for male couples to search for eggs so they can be fathers or for zookeepers to give them an egg of their own.
Some have even been seen trying to trick new parents by stealing their egg and then leaving a rock in its place as a decoy.
